Wista's collection of sophisticated metal field cameras (the VX SP & RF) are designed for photographers wanting much more than just a simple field camera.  Gargantuan values in specifications such as the maximum tilt or swing degree are of rather limited in use in the field for in these regards nearly all cameras provide capacities exceeding both lens coverage and practical need.  But in specifications of rather large importance-front rise/lateral shift shortest/longest usable focal lengths the combined capacity for large rear lens barrel diameters with a small lensboard and fine control of movements the metal Wistas succeed admirably. A whopping 56mm of front rise & 40mm of lateral shift is about the best one could hope for from a true field camera and the Wista RF does so without an enormous lensboard which would consume considerable packing space.  Wooden cameras are lighter of course but provide inferior rigidity when used with longer lenses.  If you enjoy a 240mm or 300mm for use in landscape work the weight is well spent.  Upon the wide angle end of things you're allowed a rear lens barrel diameter of 80mm. The 45RF has all the features of the VX and is also a rangefinder-coupled camera cammed to accommodate 135 150 and 180mm lenses.  The rangefinder cams are designed specifically for Nikon's Nikkor-W lenses but the triple folding infinity stops can be easily adjusted to accurately use with other brands of 135 150 & 180mm lenses provided their film-to-flange distance is very close to the Nikkors.  The Wista features an international standard Graflok back optional extension tracks and extra-long bellows for using telephoto lenses up to 500mm as well as a sensational combination of bag bellows & dedicated lensboard for the easiest imaginable wideangle photography in a field camera. To celebrate the company has introduced a limited production version of its latest version of the famous Master Technika the Master Technika 3000 Camera. Linhof has refreshed their 4x5 metal field camera with the release of the Linhof Master Technika 3000 Camera. It improves upon the older Master Tech 2000 by adding a fourth drop position to the drop bed thus allowing for more movements and less vignetting. Also the focusing track for extreme wide-angle lenses has been moved from the inside of the camera body to an easily-accessed knob positioned on the side of the body. Now the Master Technika 3000 can utilize superwide lenses with new infinity stops at the 38mm 47mm and 58mm positions to accommodate these lenses. A special manufacturing run of 120 of the Master Technika 3000 cameras covered in a brilliant Ferrari red leather material has been created. The black leather hand strap is finished with a wide red stripe and the Folding Focusing Hood sports a special version of the famous Linhof crest with the words 120 YEARS. Additionally the revolving frame on the back of the camera will be engraved: 1887 - 2007 120 YEARS LINHOF plus each camera will be serially numbered from 001 to 120 on the frame. The Master Technika 3000 is a more compact non-rangefinder version of the classic Linhof Master Technika. It comes with a wrist strap a folding focusing hood and a ground-glass grid screen. It does not include the lens lensboard grip fresnel lens or viewfinder. It is a technical baseboard camera of the highest quality with a sturdy die-cast body that closes to compact dimensions. It features: a triple-extension drop bed ratcheting lift lever for front standard rise an international Graflock spring back with revolving swing frame a lift-up flap on top of the camera housing for increased wide-angle efficiency a built-in wide-angle focusing track for extreme wide-angle lenses 38-72mm (movements with bed in fourth notch dropped position) and a removable accessory cold shoe mount that reveals a hidden tripod thread.
